Gåte is this year’s Norwegian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, with the final taking place on May 11 in Malmø Sweden. This album contains the Ulveham song by which the band will represent Norway, plus tracks from the Vandrar EP, which has previously only been released digitally, the track Solfager and Ormekongen lifted from the acoustic album Nord, and a live version of the track Kjærleik from the same album, recorded earlier this year.

About Gåte:
Gåte had a national breakthrough in the early 2000 with their captivating performances and groundbreaking mix of traditional folk and modern rock. With an immense respect for folk music and unparalleled talent Gåte managed to interpret and convey traditional folk songs to a whole new generation of listeners.

In 2020 the band chose to go back to their roots and dive into the vast traditional music history Norway has to offer on the album Nord. The result is painstakingly beautiful and emotive collection of songs delving deep into the musical past of their country, with a contemporary approach. Proving yet again that great music and great art endures. 2024 has added another twist to Gåte’s story, when they won the Norwegian final in the Eurovision Song Contes, which means they will represent their country in the International final with the haunting and powerful song Ulveham.
